Featured Speaker: District 4 Chairman Dr. Joe Neunder

Dr. Joe Neunder was elected to the Sarasota County Commission in November 2022 after serving on the Venice City Council from 2020 through June 2022. He is serving as Vice Chair for 2024 and will serve as Chair for 2025.

He represents the Commission on the boards of CareerSource Suncoast, the Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County, Suncoast Continuum of Care Leadership Council, Value Adjustment Board, Sarasota/Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), MPO Public Transportation Task Force, Sarasota County Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board, and the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program Policy Board.

Dr. Neunder is a conservative Republican, a family man, small business owner, and local chiropractic physician. He describes the secret to Sarasota’s success as small government, low taxes, balanced budgets, respect and support for law enforcement and first responders, and protection for the natural beauty that surrounds us.

A native of Buffalo, New York, Dr. Neunder moved to Florida as a teenager. He swam competitively for Swim Florida and Venice High School, and graduated from Pine View School. He continued his education at Florida’s public universities and earned a Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine from Life University in Georgia. He returned to Sarasota to open his business and raise his family.

Dr. Neunder has demonstrated his commitment to our community through his service on the Evalyn Sadlier-Jones Branch-YMCA Board of Directors, Boys & Girls Club, Sarasota County Planning Commission, City of Venice Historic Preservation Board, and the Venice City Council.

More than anything, Dr. Neunder is committed to preserving the opportunities he enjoyed growing up in Sarasota for his children. He and his wife Cindy, and their three boys, are members at Epiphany Cathedral Catholic Church and reside in North Venice.
