Job Summary


The 26 West Entrepreneurship Center offers a suite of business services that are available to the public. Candidate will be responsible for generating revenue in every area of the 26 West Entrepreneurship Center by renting office space, selling programming, identifying clients for The Digital Collective and Creative Studio, selling event space, creating and managing partnerships, and securing grants, sponsorships and donations. The candidate must have a proven track record of generating sales and building and maximizing relationships in the Bradenton-Sarasota community.

Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties:


• Develop a pipeline and actively recruit prospective clients for the 26 West Entrepreneurship Center businesses by identifying a target build relationships with local Chambers of Commerce, Economic Development Corporations, SCORE, SBDC, GrowFL and other workforce development and entrepreneurial entities in the region to identify opportunities for revenue generation.

• Attend appropriate local networking events to identify prospective clients and represent the 26 West Entrepreneurship Center.

• Actively identify, reach out, and follow up with prospective clients of all businesses of the 26 West Entrepreneurship Center to close sales to meet revenue goals.

• Develop, write, and follow up on proposals to prospective clients in all areas of the 26 West Entrepreneurship Center. Process all signed contracts and transition clients for onboarding.

• Plan and implement regular events and networking for the 26 West Entrepreneurship Center community to connect them to like-minded professionals, entrepreneurs, service providers, and potential investors and give prospective clients a reason to visit the 26 West Center.

• Develop and implement office operations and procedures to maximize effectiveness and organizational efficiencies in the Business Growth Lab.

• Develop and execute plan to deliver agreed upon revenue goals for all areas of the 26 West Entrepreneurship Center.

• Regularly monitor the competitive set and continue to establish and communicate the value proposition of the 26 West Center.

• Manage sales and corresponding expense budget for all areas of the 26 West Entrepreneurship Center.

• Identify and secure funding opportunities for all businesses in the 26 West Entrepreneurship Center through grants, donations, partnerships, and sponsorships. Coordinate with SCF Foundation and develop grant narratives and budgets.

• Maintain contact database (HubSpot) including all prospects and clients. Manage contacts, health of the database, and act as the point of contact for the HubSpot platform for the 26 West Entrepreneurship Center.

• Perform other duties deemed necessary and to fulfill grant obligations.


Job Qualifications

• Education/Experience:


Bachelor's degree (or comparable relevant experience) and four years of sales experience with a proven track record, preferably in a service industry in the Bradenton-Sarasota area; or the equivalent combination of education and experience; and has strong organizational skills and ability to network with a broad array of internal and external constituents.


• Supervisory Experience:


This position does not require supervisory experience.

• Language Ability:


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


• Math Ability:


Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


• Reasoning Ability:


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram/chart, or schedule form.


• Computer Skills:


Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, internet, database, and email software. Knowledge of online learning environments and learning management systems (LMS).


• Certificates and Licenses:


Valid Florida driver's license. Work will require travel throughout service area.

Responsibility for People and Property:

Provides supervision to administrative staff and tenants for the Center. Makes annual budget recommendations and tracks related grant expenditures; handles funds related to incubator/accelerator operations leading toward eventual self-sufficiency.


Responsibility for Communication:

This position has routine contact with all levels of SCF administration and staff.


• External Contacts:


This position has routine contact with area organizations, non-profits, businesses, and thought leaders.
