Job Summary
The Camp Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the SCF Camp, ensuring a dynamic, educational, and enjoyable experience for all campers. This role involves supervising the camp staff, including Camp Instructors, Camp Assistants, and volunteers, while promoting teamwork, safety, and a passion for learning. The Camp Coordinator will be responsible for developing, planning, and executing camp activities that meet the camp's goals, managing camp facilities and supplies, and ensuring consistent communication with campers, parents, and staff. The position also involves promoting the camp through social media, ensuring that all parents receive camp information and digital final products of their child's camp experience, and survey participants (kids, teachers, and parents) weekly for feedback.

Hourly rate $25 an hour.

Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties:
• Provide supervision and guidance to camp staff, including Camp Instructors, Camp Assistants, and volunteers. Create a supportive, collaborative environment, ensuring staff work together to foster a safe and positive experience for campers. Address any camper discipline issues in a timely manner, collaborating with staff and parents as needed.
• Design, plan, and oversee daily camp activities that align with the camp's goals. Develop engaging and hands-on activities that promote creativity, teamwork, and essential skills development in campers. Ensure activities are age-appropriate and meet the varied needs of all campers.
• Oversee the maintenance and organization of camp facilities, equipment, and supplies to ensure safety and readiness for daily activities. Monitor inventory to ensure adequate materials are available for camp activities and ensure facilities are properly maintained.
• Ensure that all parents receive the digital final products showcasing their child's camp experience. Actively communicate with parents to provide updates on camper progress, upcoming activities, and any important announcements.
• Support the promotion of the SCF Camp through social media platforms and other digital channels. Create engaging content to increase visibility, promote upcoming camps, and encourage camper enrollment.
• Administer weekly surveys to gather feedback from campers, staff, parents, and teachers. Analyze responses to assess the success of camp activities and identify opportunities for improvement. Use this data to refine camp operations and ensure ongoing quality programming.
• Monitor the safety and well-being of all campers and staff, ensuring adherence to camp policies and procedures. Address any safety concerns or camper health issues promptly.
• Work closely with Camp Instructors and Camp Assistants to ensure camp operations run smoothly. Provide support and guidance as needed to help staff meet the camp's goals and create a positive learning environment for all campers.
• Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned to ensure the success of the camp. This may include assisting with camper check-in/check-out processes or supporting camp-wide events.
Job Qualifications

• Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college and two or more years related experience and/or training. Prefer applicants with experience working with K-12 youth in a structured learning program. Prefer applicants with teaching experience.
• Supervisory Experience:
One to three years of supervisory experience, including responsibility for training and coaching is preferred.
• Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret texts, periodicals, journals, equipment instructions and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from campers, parents, sponsors, SCF staff, and the public.
• Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret graphs.
• Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, chart or schedule form.
• Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office experience is preferred.
• Certificates and Licenses:
None required.
Responsibility for People and Property:
Oversees the camp staff in their daily camp activities with campers, parents, sponsors, and guest speakers. Maintains camp equipment, facilities and supplies in safe working order.
Responsibility for Communication:
• Internal Contacts:
Routine contact with all levels of SCF Camp students, parents, and staff.
• External Contacts:
Contact with camp visitors, sponsors, guest speakers, and occasional visitors touring SCF facilities.

Camp activities take place in a variety of environments. Examples include classrooms, athletic fields, performance studios, and outdoor walking trails. The noise level in the work environment fluctuates with each camp and could be moderate to above average due to electronic devices, musical instruments, and other external factors.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to use manual dexterity, talk, and hear. The employees will be on their feet frequently and required to walk, reach with arms and hands, and lift to 15 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
