Job Summary


Performs advanced-level Human Resource functions within the Office of Human Resources under the supervision of the Human Resource management team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties:


• Assists with processing all aspects of employee onboarding, offboarding, and personnel record management, including entering and maintaining accurate records for new and current employees, meeting with new hires to complete required documentation, assisting with orientation logistics, ensuring timely benefits enrollment, and processing personnel actions.

• Processes employment verifications, unemployment claims, and Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) requests accurately and in a timely manner.

• Serves as a point of contact for employees, responding to routine inquiries including but not limited to HR policies and procedures, benefits, recruitment, HRIS functions, and performance evaluation and goal-setting processes.

• Maintains distribution lists for adjunct faculty, career/professional/administrative employees.

• Monitors and ensures completion of mandatory employee training. Follows up with employees regarding overdue or incomplete trainings. Provides technical support to employees experiencing issues accessing or completing training modules. Updates training courses and materials as needed to ensure content accuracy and relevance.

• Assists with the creation, level scoring, updating, and approval routing for all job descriptions. Maintains and enters job description information across HRIS systems.

• Provides support for routine reports across the Human Resources Department as assigned.

• Provides support for routine processes across the Human Resources Department as assigned, including but not limited to the dissemination of annual contracts, performance appraisals, salary schedule, and goal setting.

• Completes projects and other technical assignments as delegated by leadership within the Human Resources Department.

• Provides administrative support for departmental operations, including invoice reconciliation, meeting minutes, supply management, mail distribution, and maintenance of filing systems in compliance with records retention policies.. , Handles benefit record updates, expense tracking, and assists with visitor and phone reception. Troubleshoots problems as they arise, with the guidance of department leadership.

• Provide support to Coordinator, Talent Acquisition, as necessary, with functions such as offer letters, processing applicant travel arrangements, and new hire tracking etc.

• Responsible for scanning documents into employee electronic personnel files in a timely manner.

• Provides backup support and cross-functional assistance within the Human Resources Department (Human Resources Information Systems, Benefits and Talent Acquisition),. Acts as a team player by supporting other HR Generalists and occasionally other departments.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:


Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Supervisory Experience:


This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


Language Ability:


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Math Ability:


Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


Reasoning Ability:


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram/chart form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete changes in standardized situations.


Computer Skills:


To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate knowledge of word processing and database software, intermediate knowledge of spreadsheets, email, and Internet software. Knowledge of or ability to learn quickly in current College database and other required software.


Certificates and Licenses:


Notary license or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
