Job Summary
The Lifelong Learning and Workforce Development department is seeking a Youth Enrichment Instructor. This is a seasonal/temporary part time position. Hiring range $18-$25 hourly.
The position of Youth Enrichment Instructor innovatively delivers organized and engaging program activities to youth to enrich program participant knowledge of concepts and career pathways. Creates and follows curriculum lesson plans. Maintains youth enrichment program documentation and data. Works collaboratively with the Youth Enrichment Coordinator and Youth Enrichment Assistant. Exhibits professionalism as a role model. Adheres to SCF policies and procedures. Ensures a healthy and safe environment and assumes overall responsibility for classroom management.

Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties:
• Develops and delivers organized and engaging youth enrichment program curriculum through activities to youth.
• Works collaboratively with the Youth Enrichment Coordinator and Youth Enrichment Assistant to prepare and maintain facilities, equipment and supplies for program activities and maintaining documentation of inventory to accommodate class sizes.
• Creates a fun experience for youth full of designing, interacting, inventing, communicating, and problem solving, while gaining valuable teamwork skills.
• Assists the Youth Enrichment Coordinator in meeting program goals, coordinating experiential learning such as field trips and guest speakers, prioritizing the health and safety of program participants, promoting the youth enrichment program, and evaluating each week's success through debriefings.
• Serves as a problem solver regarding classroom management issues that arise, including but not limited to program participant disciplinary remediation or health/safety issues, maintaining an efficient, smooth-running schedule with minimal unscheduled interruptions. Reports issues to the Youth Enrichment Coordinator and provides feedback regarding all program activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications

• Education/Experience:
Associate's degree from a two-year college or university and experience with K-12 curriculum.
• Supervisory Experience:
Experience in coaching, advising, and mentoring preferred.
• Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret texts, periodicals, journals, equipment instructions and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, campers, parents, sponsors, SCF staff, and the public.
• Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret graphs.
• Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, chart or schedule form.
• Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office experience is preferred.
• Certificates and Licenses:
None required.
Responsibility for People and Property:
Oversees the camp staff in their daily camp activities with campers, parents, sponsors, and guest speakers. Maintains camp equipment, facilities and supplies in safe working order.
Responsibility for Communication:
• Internal Contacts:
Routine contact with all levels of SCF youth enrichment program students, parents, and staff.
• External Contacts:
Contact with youth enrichment program visitors, sponsors, guest speakers, and occasional visitors touring SCF facilities.

Enrichment program activities take place in a variety of environments. Examples include classrooms, athletic fields, performance studios, and outdoor walking trails. The noise level in the work environment fluctuates and could be moderate to above average due to electronic devices, musical instruments, and other external factors.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to use manual dexterity, talk, and hear. The employees will be on their feet frequently and required to walk, reach with arms and hands, and lift to 15 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
