The buyer, Skyway Communities, LLC, acquired the property with plans to develop an RV and boat storage facility. The site’s strategic location near major thoroughfares I-75, I-275, and Tampa Bay made it an ideal choice for the buyer's intended use. 

Mike Migone, CCIM, a Senior Advisor with SVN Commercial Advisory Group, successfully represented both the buyer and the seller, John Gitler, in this transaction.

According to the RV Industry Association (RVIA), RV ownership in the United States has reached a record high, with over 11 million households owning RVs—a 62% increase over the past 20 years. The latest report from RVIA shows that to date, RVs are up 6.5% compared to the same period last year with 310,580 units shipped through November 2024.

Similarly, boat ownership has surged, with Florida leading the nation in registered boats at over 1 million vessels, according to the National Marine Manufacturers Association. 

The National Marine Manufacturers Association reports that Florida leads the country in recreational boating economic impact with nearly 110,000 industry jobs and more than 7,100 businesses. 

The Palmetto area’s rapid growth, in particular, has experienced increased demand for secure, conveniently located storage solutions, driven by its proximity to key waterways, Tampa Bay, and popular travel routes. 

RVers and boating enthusiasts can anticipate the completion of this new storage facility by Q4 of this year.
