All Faiths Food Bank announces 2026 board of directors
All Faiths Food Bank, the only food bank and largest hunger relief organization in Sarasota and DeSoto counties, has named its 2026 board of directors. This volunteer leadership body will help support and guide the organization’s operations and continue its decades-long mission to end hunger.
The officers are: Patricia Courtois, chair; Dr. LaShawn Frost, vice chair; Rich Cautero, treasurer; and Mitch Olan, secretary. New members are Daniel Collins and Tom Gurrentz. They join continuing directors Dr. Rose Báez, Susan Holik, Ron Jadin, Lisa Keverian-Press, Lisa Krouse, David Nichols, Bill Seider, and board emeritus Keith Monda.
Collins, a certified public accountant who has extensive experience working for not-for-profit health systems, is the chief financial officer for First Physicians Group. Previously, he spent 15 years at Orlando Health. In these positions, he learned from participating in community benefit programs the critical importance of ensuring that healthy, quality foods are readily available to residents. His volunteer experience includes participating in Serve Days with the church in his previous community, refereeing for Special Olympics, 10 years for the Arnold Palmer Invitational golf tournament (benefiting the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children), and coaching his son’s volleyball team.
Gurrentz began his career working in a multi-generation family business, next embarking on a career in finance on Wall Street. His final post prior to retirement was as a wealth manager at Wells Fargo. Previous volunteer positions have included board and advisory roles at the NYC Church of Christ, HOPE Worldwide – Bolivia, the Homeless Coalition in Orlando and SRQ Housechurch. After moving to Sarasota, he sought hands-on work to help those experiencing financial challenges and found All Faiths Food Bank. After filling in at different locations, Gurrentz chose Arcadia (DeSoto County) to be his consistent volunteering spot.
All Faiths’ top priorities for 2026 include: Penetrating further into communities where the need is – as well as meeting the “new need” created by current economic realities; further developing the collaborative community movement to address not just hunger, but other related needs in order to lift people from poverty; and adapting to the consequences of federal cuts to essential social service and feeding programs, which are already resulting in less food, less access to health and more uncertainty at a time when families are already doing all they can to get by.
“As our community faces the ripple effects of significant cuts to critical government programs, strong, forward-thinking leadership is more important than ever,” said Nelle S. Miller, president and CEO of All Faiths Food Bank. “We are pleased to welcome Dan and Tom to the board, and are confident they will bring valuable perspective, deepen the trust we have built across the region and help expand our capacity to reach even more neighbors experiencing hunger.”
