Gulf Coast Builders Exchange Announces New Leadership
The Board of Directors of the Gulf Coast Builders Exchange (GCBX) is pleased to announce Elizabeth Shore as the organization’s new Executive Director.
Founded in 1952 by a small group of contractors, GCBX was established to address shared challenges within the local commercial contracting industry. Over the past seven decades, the organization has grown significantly, now representing leading commercial contracting firms, subcontractors, and businesses serving the industry across Manatee, Sarasota, and Charlotte counties.
Shore assumed the role in January, bringing decades of experience as an entrepreneur, business owner, and finance executive. As fifth generation to Manatee County, she is deeply connected to the community and understands that a thriving local economy is built on collaboration, strategic partnerships, and trust. Shore credits her professional success and deep-rooted commitment to the region to her family, including her late father, longtime Manatee Clerk of Courts, R.B. “Chips” Shore.
“GCBX is on a strong trajectory, building on past success and poised for a promising future,” said GCBX Chairman Brett Raymaker. “Mary Dougherty, our leader for more than 16 years, built a remarkable foundation of leadership and advocacy for our industry. Thanks to Mary, Elizabeth is transitioning seamlessly into this role and is well-positioned to take GCBX to new heights. She knows this community and the issues that matter to our membership, making her our ideal next executive director.”
