Save Our Seabirds Welcomes Five New Board Members
Sarasota, FL - April 2025 - Save Our Seabirds, a non-profit dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of sick and injured birds, later releasing them back into the wild, announces an expansion of its Board of Directors. “We are thrilled to welcome these talented individuals to our board,” said Linda Mitchell, Board Chair of Save Our Seabirds. “Their leadership and varied expertise will help amplify our impact, strengthen our community partnerships, and help to further ensure a long and bright future for Save Our Seabirds.”
New Board Members
Jane Weinman - Jane, originally from Shawnee Mission, Kansas, earned her education degree from the University of Tulsa and a master’s degree from Texas A&M University. She worked as a public elementary school educator for 12 years before becoming the controller for her husband’s geophysical consulting and seismic processing company. She has served on her Homeowners Association board, where she played a key role in updating bylaws and securing higher-yield investments.
Cynthia Craig - Cynthia graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. from Dickinson College and earned her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center. As a practicing attorney, she served two terms on the New Jersey Supreme Court District Ethics Committee and was a court-appointed trustee of the EJW Special Needs Trust. Cynthia has been an active volunteer in Florida’s 12th Judicial Circuit as a Guardian Ad Litem and has held leadership roles with the Children’s Guardian Fund.
Danielle Gladding - Danielle is an active community volunteer, lending her time and support to several not-for-profit organizations including State College of Florida Foundation, the Girl Scouts of America, Easter Seals of Southwest Florida, The Florida House in Washington, D.C, Mote Marine, and the Debutante Program of Sarasota and Manatee. Danielle has been involved in Sarasota real estate since 1987 beginning as founder and managing broker for Trop Properties Real Estate and now is a Broker-Associate with Coldwell Banker.
John Wilson - John graduated summa cum laude from the University of Detroit and the University of Michigan Law School. He spent more than 40 years as a trial lawyer representing businesses, municipalities, and individuals in complex commercial and intellectual property cases. He has served as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and on the faculty of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. Currently, John serves on the Institutional Review Board of the Fred Hutch Cancer Center.
Michelle Johnson - Michelle, a Miami University graduate with a B.S. in Business Administration, manages a concierge-level wealth management office with Edward Jones. A Longboat Key resident, she is actively involved in her community, serving as a member of the LBK Garden Club, moderator of the LBK Facebook page, and coordinator of the LBK Book Club. She has previously held leadership positions with PEO, the St. Croix Valley Foundation, and Turning Point for victims of sexual abuse.
“These new board members bring a wealth of experience and dedication to our organization,” added Mitchell. “We look forward to working together to advance our mission of protecting Florida’s wild birds.”
