VibeOtter Founders Nick and Laura Relocate from Seattle to Sarasota to Launch Website and App-Building Software for Small Businesses
After a cross-country drive with two kids and two dogs, the family is starting a new chapter—and creating a simpler way for small business owners to launch online.
SARASOTA, Fla. — July 13, 2026 — VibeOtter founders Nick and Laura have relocated from Seattle, Washington, to Sarasota, Florida, where they are launching a new DIY software platform that helps small business owners create professional websites and full-stack applications without learning web design, coding, or software development.
The move marked a major personal and professional transition. Nick and Laura drove more than 3,000 miles across the country with their two children and two dogs, leaving the Pacific Northwest to build a new life—and a new company—on Florida’s Gulf Coast.
“Most small business owners do not want to become website developers,” said Nick. “They want to serve their customers, grow their businesses, and bring their ideas to life. VibeOtter is being built to handle the technical side so they can focus on the work they actually care about.”
VibeOtter is designed for entrepreneurs and small business owners who need a strong online presence but do not want to know anything about how websites or applications are built. The platform enables users to create and launch websites and full-stack apps, including both the customer-facing experience and the behind-the-scenes functionality that powers it.
Rather than requiring business owners to understand hosting, databases, front-end design, back-end development, or other technical concepts, VibeOtter makes the process straightforward and accessible.
“Launching a business is already complicated enough,” said Laura. “A business owner should not have to understand every technical detail just to create a website or launch an app. Our goal is to make building online feel approachable, even for someone who has never made a website before.”
The family’s move from Seattle to Sarasota reflects the same spirit behind VibeOtter: taking an idea, navigating the unknown, and building something new. Sarasota’s growing community of entrepreneurs, independent professionals, and locally owned businesses provides an ideal setting for the company’s next chapter.
